Upon enrolment, every student gets a unique username to access their Google-OUM linked online account. This means, as students, we get a set of apps including Gmail, Drive and Calendar. During the first semester, I was not aware of these perks. I just used it as a means to join the weekly e-tutorials. It was only later towards the end of that semester did I realized that I could keep my modules, research articles and other study-related stuff on that account.
Since this is a student account, there is a possibility that this privilege will be revoked once we complete our studies. therefore, in the long term, it is best to save final assignments in an external drive.
I noticed that for this account, there are extra features associated with the uni account. One of them is the Shared Drives. We are all familiar with the Shared With Me feature. The latter is still there as I get to access recorded lectures by my tutors here. The Shared Drive seems to be a good hub for collaborative work. Perhaps a team assignment. I have yet to use that feature but it could be useful in the future.
Another feature is Priority. It’s like creating a virtual workspace where you could work on a project while sifting through various materials without creating a mess. Kinda like studying in a library with stacks of books on the side. Looking forward to discovering more features on this account.
